Wine Description This particular Auslese was harvested with a heavy amount of botrytis, so it is more like a Beerenauslese with a nice botrytis taste. Extremely well rounded, rich in extract, full in the mouth and a perfect balance between complex fruit and acidity. It offers concentrated fruit taste with refined and subtle finish. The color is a beautiful gold hue with a very full and aromatic nose of honey and tropical fruits. We highly recommend this wine as an aperitif, with fine desert or by itself as desert. |

Eduard Kroth Estate
The Eduard Kroth Estate is suited on the steep bank of the Mosel in the idyllic village of Briedel. The family owned winery has produced wine since 1503 and has been operated by Bartho and Daniela Kroth since 2004, when they took over the estate from their father Eduard.
The winery's premier vineyard is Königslay-Terrassen in Merl in Zell, Mosel. The site is extremely steep with 70% inclines, facing south and possesses a microclimate that is very conductive to noble sweet wines. In these precipitous slate slopes, they grow almost exclusively Riesling wine and added the red wines Spätburgunder and Dornfelder during recent years. The well-known wine maker Albert Kallfelz at Mosel commented in his book "Wine, Human and Nature" that this vineyard is among the most top vineyards at Mosel region with just 3 hectares.
Unlike many other German wineries, Bartho is focused on selling retailers instead of the end consumer directly at the winery.
Bartho Kroth has already won many awards in both state and federal competitions and is considered at the forefront of a group of up-and-coming young Mosel vintners.
